Fitness Wish List

At the moment whilst it's the Easter holidays and I have a bit of spare time on my hands all of a sudden I have transformed into a gym bunny! However I know even with the best of intentions as soon as term starts I will lose all motivation. This is not good with a pending holiday only a few months away! So I have decided to create a fitness wish list as a way of staying focused. Basically if I can keep up this fitness routine I will treat myself to items on this list starting off with a new gym bag eventually working up to the holy grail of all running shoes the Nike Free Runs.

The 'I am off to the gym' gym bag is from  Not on the High Street it's perfect for what I need its light, not too big and has a quirky motivational design. Speaking of motivation you can't get more motivating than Ryan Gosling. I have signed up to do the Race for Life this year and I know if Ryan Gosling really was waiting for me at the end of the finishing line my speed would rival Usain Bolt's. But unfortunately he won't be so instead I will just have to wear this top and dream.

When working out I like to see how many calories I have burnt but when I run outside or lift weights I have no idea and usually guess. This is where the Polar FT4 heart rate monitor would be perfect as it works out how many calories are burnt in a session. The ultimate (and most expensive) item on my wish list is a pair of Nike Free Runs 5.0. I have heard so many amazing reviews about these shoes and they come in such cute colours and patterns.

What would be on your motivational fitness wish list?

March Favourites

I fully stand by the saying 'life is better with a tan'! I am constantly searching for that perfect fake tan which wont break the bank or make me look like a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory extra. Finally I have found it introducing Cocoa Brown's 1 hour tan. There are so many things right with this tan that I think it deserves a full blog post just to itself. So for now all I will say is its a luxury tan at a not so luxury price.

My favourite perfume recently has been the DKNY Fresh Blossom. It has a light, feminine and fruity scent which is perfect for spring and summer. It is such a refreshing perfume which I often get compliments on when wearing .

At the moment (touch wood) my skin has really improved and when I do get those break outs they soon disappear. I think this is due to combination of the Dr Manuka ApiClear Foaming Cleanser and Lush Grease Lightening spot treatment.

The Lush Grease Lightening spot treatment combines all the products I already use (tea tree oil, witch hazel and aloe vera) into one light gel which can be used under make up or as an over night treatment.  I know it has had mixed reviews within the blogging community but I find for my blemish prone combination skin it really works!

Whilst the Dr Manuka ApiClear Foaming Cleanser is my go too product when using my sonic cleanser. It foams up really well and you only need the smallest amount so the tube lasts ages. It feels as though it is really cleaning deep into my skin whilst not making my face feel tight or dry. It tingles at first which to me is my 'scientific' sign it is working.

The Origins GinZing energy boosting moisturiser is my first Origins product and wont be my last, so far I'm very impressed! It has a light weight texture which provides a great base for make up as it has radiance boosting ingredients. This moisturiser is oil-free so it works really well with my combination skin. Plus it smells delicious!

What were your March favourites?

The wonders of coconut oil

Coconut oil has become popular over the past couple of years but every since Gwyneth Paltrow brought attention to 'oil pulling' it seems to be everywhere. With its endless possible uses and not too expensive price tag it is definitely a beauty basic.

Body - The summer months are fast approaching and if you are anything like me at some point you will get burnt. I have never been a fan of after sun instead I use coconut oil. I find it soothes and cools the skin whilst not making it tight like aloe vera. Personally I don't like the feeling of lots of oil on my skin but I will put up with the discomfort as not only does it help with the sun burn but it makes my skin feeling amazing! Coconut oil also helps with skin problems such as eczema, scars and dry nails.

Face - As well as being good for the skin coconut oil is an excellent make up remover. You only need to rub a small amount around your eyes to see the effect it has. After rubbing the oil in you then simply wipe your eyes with cotton pads and voilĂ  make up gone and your skin is left hydrated. I also find that coconut oil helps to treat any blemishes.

Hair - I general find most oils tame my hair frizz to an extent but there is something about coconut oil which gives it that extra something. I use it as both a weekly hair treatment and a daily hair tamer. The coconut oil hair treatment is part of my Sunday pamper night I simply cover my hair and scalp in the oil, wrap my hair in a towel for an hour or so then wash it out to reveal soft and shiny hair.

Have you ever used coconut oil? What did you think of it?
